So I have this friend, she used to be my best friend. She used to be up for anything; drinks, a party, shopping, a movie. We talked and shared a lot throughout 3 plus years of friendship. You would call or text her and she would always be there. Now, not so much. She has fallen off the face of the earth. I know people have lives, full of work and relationships. But friendship to me is just as important.
“The causes of modern social problems, from divorce to homelessness and obesity, are often thought to be based in areas such as poverty, stress or unhappiness. But researchers suggest we are overlooking something crucial: friendship. It would appear that our society is ignoring its importance. The philosopher Aristotle said, “In poverty and other misfortunes of life, true friends are a sure refuge. They keep the young out of mischief; they comfort and aid the old in their weakness, and they incite those in the prime of life to noble deeds.” Friendships are vital for wellbeing, but they take time to develop and can’t be artificially created.” -http://psychcentral.com
I used to call and text her weekly to attempt to make plans, even for an hour just to catch up. Usually she didn’t even get back to me, but when she did she always had an excuse. We have hung out maybe 6 times in the last 8 month and talked on the phone maybe once. I don’t even consider this a friendship. It’s not like she’s moved away, not like she is in jail or unable to communicate in some other way. I’ve thought about it a lot lately and I’m leaving the ball in her court. I will no longer attempt to contact her or make plans. We will see if she tries to contact me…
So today I got my very first free credit report. I’ve seen my score before but never seen the whole report. Let’s just say I never wanted to see it before because I used to have this problem with shopping. I had no money when I was 18 and shopped out my emotional problems and stress, then when my credit cards were maxed instead of thinking “hey I should pay these off” I just opened new ones, and so on and so forth. Then when I stopped shopping all my money went to the credit cards, so I needed to use them for basic living needs like toilet paper and groceries.
Needless to say, it got out of hand. Fast forward 3 years of credit card usage and abusage and here I am today. I kicked the credit card habit, and no longer use ANY. I am of coarse still paying for my mistakes. Although I am happy to announce when looking at my credit report I do not feel sad, but empowered. I now know that credit cards are evil in the hands of a girl like me. And if I ever forget I have the next 7 years of payments (hopefully less) to remind me.

I haven’t blogged anything in a while, but not much has been going on either. I have been working A LOT of overtime, and paying things off for the wedding. Everything is mostly done and planned, and it is coming up so soon! 4 months and 1 week till the big day. I’m going to try to blog more, not because I want to be the next Julie and Julia or be on Ellen but because I think it’s soothing.
Above is my decide hair style, half up half down. With fun twisty things so it’s not too boring or plain. Only took me 16 months to decide on it. hehe
So I have decided to start writing again. about whatever I feel like.
Its nice out today which only makes me want summer SO bad! The warm sun, flip flops, sitting by the pool, camping, I WANT IT. I wish I could afford to take a sabattical and just sit outside and read all day.
I feel like I am in a rut, nothing new, nothing exciting.
