Wedding Recap

So its official I am a MRS. Christopher and I were married on May 29th, at Mulligan’s event center. The day was HOT, and humid. Everything looked beautiful; the ceremony was outside under a huge tree. The wind blew my veil in my face the entire time, and Christopher and I swayed as he was SO nervous. It was magical. The reception was perfect, and I was so surprised at how late people stayed to dance and party.

Favorite Moment: Ceremony
Our Judge was great and after we said our vows he whispered – “that was great”.
When Christopher was saying his vows he almost cried.
When we were done, and walked back down the aisle. I don’t know of a time when I have been happier.

Favorite Décor item: Paper Lanterns or Cake
The paper lanterns were hung from the tree, I think it added so much.
My cake was AWSOME, it was perfect.

It was all perfect

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner
By: Stephanie Meyer
Hello My name is Chelsy, and I’m a twilight fan. – if you are not, skip over this post!

I not only had to read this, I had to own it. Just because it is part of the Twilight saga. So I bought it for $8.00 from my book club – Doubleday. I received it, and borrowed it out to my sister because I was not really that excited to read it. She loved it. I wouldn’t say I loved it, but I certainly liked it.

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner chronicles the short time Bree was a vampire for Victoria’s army. I didn’t like Bree prior to reading this book, in fact I didn’t care about Bree at all. Bree was smart, she was falling in love, and she was a good person under all the new vampire craziness. If you’re a Twilight fan, this book is a MUST!

If I could do it all again…

It would be small, intimate.
Lights hanging from all the trees,
In my parent’s backyard.
It wouldn’t be about my hair, or the food.
The dress or the décor.
It would be about him and me.
And that’s it.

I need to fit all of this into what?

Eight months from now I (including my fiancée, dog and cat) will be moving into a tiny one bedroom apartment in the upstairs of a over 100 year old house. I currently live in a two bedroom apartment, it’s pretty roomy. I have a whole spare room and 4 closets to hide all of my treasures. I have already been working hard on purging the small stuff, like décor, candles, old books and movies. But I am nowhere close to where I need to be including deciding what furniture will stay and what will go.

This weekend I plan to tackle that project, that way I have the next eight months to find the items I cannot keep new homes. Plus it will give me a better idea on what small stuff still needs to go. So the plan is to measure all my current furniture and tape paper together to show the width and length of the items. Then haul them over to the new apartment and lay them all out, this way I can see what will fit. Oh and I’m dragging my Sister along to help. If all goes well I will post some pictures.

The Battle with Nic

So, money is an ongoing problem in my life. I need to save to pay off my upcoming wedding and the “little” things keep adding up and making me broke. I’m used to being broke, because it seems there is always SOMETHING to buy. Right now I have $7.00,
So yesterday I decided it would be a good idea to try and quit smoking.

I have quit before, and it was hard. It always is.

I made it until 10:00 AM today.

If you’re a non smoker do not judge me. It is an addiction, and not only that but it is a part of my identity. I am a smoker, and I have been for several years. I don’t remember what it was like not to wake up and smoke, to take my breaks outside… even in the coldest winter months, to always have them with me. They are like little friends, who bring me relief and a happy dizzy feeling.

So with all that said, I’ve decided to cut back… extremely. I used to smoke a pack a day, and now I’m going to monitor how much I smoke and update at the end of the week.

Shutter Island

Shutter Island
By: Dennis Lehane

I just finished reading Shutter Island it was borrowed to me by a good friend who said “it was SO good”. As you may know the movie by the same name made after the book is currently in theaters now.

This book takes place in 1954, U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels and his partner Chuck Aule come to the Island to assist in finding a missing Patient. As they attempt to determine how the patient made it out of her locked cell, past several orderlies and past guarded checkpoints they uncover secrets about the island. Armed with a code left by the missing patient Teddy is going to uncover what is really happening on the island… even if it makes him insane.
I am not much for suspenseful books, but this one was done right. Shutter Island is a good read.
I am now reading: Love the one your with By: Emily Giffin
Happy Reading.

Something Blue

I normally blog about what is currently on my mind. So it is all over the place. Two sections I’m going to try to blog about are: I want, and currently reading.

I want is a post about some item I found inspiring. Whether it be something adorable, unique, cheap, or DIY. And of course as the title mentions something I want!

Currently reading: no need to explain this, but I will talk a little about what book I am currently reading and then update when I’m done with it. Kind of review the book, so to say.

I recently finished reading:
Something Blue
By: Emily Giffin

This is the sequel to Something Borrowed (which I have not read, I know reading books out of order is strange). Something blue is a true chick lit book. It is about a New Yorker named Darcy. Darcy is self absorbed, spoiled, and has a charmed life. Darcy finds her best friend is sleeping with her fiancée and her whole life falls apart. At first I hated Darcy, but by the end I loved her! A must read for any romantic.

I am currently reading: Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane I will update once I have finished it.

Happy Reading.
